A small publication, not a visa desk
You already live in the UAE. The question is how you leave.
LeavingDXB is for residents who need straight answers about visas, transit, ETIAS, Schengen, the UK ETA and the EU Entry/Exit System — cited to official pages, dated, and silent where we cannot verify.

No. GOV.UK writes the rule on the passport you travel with. UAE passports need an ETA. Many other passports common here still need a visa. The live fee is £20.

Official Commission pages say EES has been fully operational since 10 April 2026. An Emirates ID is not an exemption. ETIAS is still not taking applications.

The visa follows your passport, not your Emirates ID. Legal residents apply here; visit-visa holders generally do not. Official sources only.

Every factual claim on LeavingDXB is tied to a named source with a date. Prefer the official page if a news story and a government site disagree. Check the source yourself before you book, apply, or travel — rules change, and this site is not a substitute for the consulate that will decide your case.
